The automotive manufacturer Stellantis is facing a significant financial impact from customs duties of around 1.5 billion euros in 2025, including 0.3 billion euros in the first half of the year. The company announced this during the presentation of its half-year results. At the same time, Stellantis plans to continue its dialog with political decision-makers and develop long-term scenarios.
Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis, commented on the results as "a difficult year, but also a year of gradual improvement". He emphasized that progress in volume, net sales and operating income (AOI) was already visible compared to the second half of 2024 - despite increasing external difficulties. Filosa emphasized the determination of the new management team to make the necessary decisions for profitable growth and better results.
"My first few weeks as CEO have reinforced my firm belief that we will solve Stellantis' problems by harnessing all that is good in Stellantis - from the strength, energy and ideas of our people to the fantastic new products we are bringing to market," added Filosa.
As part of this strategy, Stellantis announced ten new models for 2025. These include three models based on the STLA medium platform from the second half of the year: the Jeep Compass, the Citroën C5 Aircross and the DS N°8, which will complement the Peugeot 3008, 5008 and Opel/Vauxhall Grandland that have already been launched. Four more models are to be launched in the first half of 2025: the Citroën C3 Aircross, the Fiat Grande Panda, the Opel/Vauxhall Frontera and the Ram ProMaster Cargo BEV. Major updates are also planned for existing bestsellers such as the Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty, the Citroën C4/C4 X and the Opel Mokka.
The new products have already contributed to an increase in the EU30 market share and a significant improvement in the order backlog in North America. This should have a positive impact on future performance.
