The 23rd edition of the Marcialonga Running Coop, which takes place on Saturday, September 6, has an exciting new feature. The "Run Ex Alto Trophy" was presented at Palazzo Montecitorio in Rome. This special trophy is aimed at military personnel, police officers and law enforcement officers. It is the result of a collaboration between the Trentino Marcialonga Committee and the Associazione Nazionale Paracadutisti d'Italia (ANPd'I).
Enrico Pollini, Secretary General of the ANPd'I, presented the initiative and emphasized the connection with the armed forces. Angelo Corradini, President of the Marcialonga, emphasized the importance of bringing "our little big Marcialonga" to the capital and thus promoting sporting events that strengthen the region and its sporting culture. He recalled the more than 50-year history and international recognition of the Marcialonga events.
Davide Stoffie, also Secretary General of the Marcialonga, expressed his enthusiasm for the "Run Ex Alto Trophy", which in his opinion fits in perfectly with the Marcialonga's openness to original initiatives. Lieutenant General Marco Bertolini, National President of the ANPd'I, also underlined the honor of participating in such a sporting initiative.
The "Run Ex Alto Trophy" aims to promote physical activity as a means of personal development and to convey the values of the Italian paratroopers, such as discipline and sacrifice. Participants in the 26-kilometre run from Moena to Cavalese will not only compete individually or in relay teams, but will also open the event with a spectacular parachute jump over Moena. In addition to this new competition, the Marcialonga Running Coop also offers a half marathon and numerous supporting events.
