A cold-blooded murder has shaken the north of Sardinia: In Buddusò last night, a 51-year-old paramedic was shot dead while on duty. The crime bears the hallmarks of a targeted execution.
The perpetrator entered the 118 ambulance station with his face uncovered, asked specifically for the later victim M. Pusceddu and fired four to five shots at him at close range. The paramedic was hit in the face and chest and succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite immediate resuscitation attempts. The murderer then fled on foot.
The Carabinieri of Ozieri have launched a manhunt throughout the Gallura region. Investigators are currently following up all leads, but consider personal revenge to be the most likely motive. So far there is no trace of the murder weapon, a small-caliber pistol. The search for the fugitive perpetrator is in full swing.
