Digital manhunt for 44 euros
The incident took place in a beach bar on August 19. Two French women in their 30s ordered two pizzas and four glasses of Spritz and ended up with a bill of 44 euros. Instead of paying, they left the bar inconspicuously at an opportune moment. But the owner, Michela Malatini, refused to give in. She secured the images from her surveillance cameras and launched an unusual appeal on Facebook by publishing the photos of the two women. The response was enormous: numerous users recognized the two women and provided the crucial clue to their accommodation. Thanks to the quick and uncomplicated help from the internet, the landlady was able to track down the two women shortly afterwards.
