Budapest – HC Falkensteiner Pustertal defeated FTC-Telekom 3–2 on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The Wolves secured the victory at Tüskecsarnok with an early lead and two power-play goals, but still had a nail-biter in the final period.
Two power-play goals set the tone early on
Just four minutes into the game, Purdeller scored the 1-0 goal for the HCP on a one-timer off a pass from Ierullo. In the 27th minute, Fitzgerald made it 2-0 after he stole the puck from a Hungarian defenseman and fired it into the far corner. Both goals came on the power play. Shortly after the second goal of the evening, Bengtsson scored on a pass from Savoie to make it 2–1 in the 31st minute. Goaltender Furlong kept HCP in the lead until the second intermission and did not allow any further goals. The score remained 2–1 heading into the final period.
Osmanski scores, Furlong seals the victory
In the 45th minute, Osmanski made it 3-1 off a pass from Purdeller—his third goal of the season, according to the club’s game report. Immediately afterward, Furlong prevented Galajda from scoring a goal to cut the deficit. Hungary pressed hard in the closing stages to cut into the deficit, and Laskawy scored in the 57th minute to make it 2–3. In the final minutes, Pustertal played a man down after Lipon was penalized, but the Wolves weathered this phase as well. Coach Jaspers was still without Rueschhoff and Pasquale in Budapest, but was able to call on Bowlby again. On Sunday, the Wolves will face AV19 in Székesfehérvár at 4:00 p.m.
