Eni Extends Fuel Price Cap – Taxi Associations Announce Protests
ANSA, RaiNews, and Quotidiano Nazionale report that Eni is extending the price cap on gasoline and diesel through the end of 2026; however, the current caps of 1.99 and 2.25 euros per liter, respectively, remain subject to review. ANSA also reports that the truck blockades in Campania and Calabria have ended, while supplies still need time to recover. Taxi associations are planning a rally in Rome on Monday and a gathering in Florence on Tuesday; a strike remains only a possibility at this point.

New Cancer Drugs: 470 Days Until Availability
ANSA and Sanità Informazione are highlighting the appeal made by the Italian Society of Medical Oncology (AIOM) at the ESMO Congress in Madrid: On average, 470 days—or about 15 months—pass between the EU approval of new cancer drugs and their availability in Italy. This figure reflects market access and does not represent the individual waiting time from diagnosis to the start of treatment. At the same time, Italy ranks among the top countries—behind Germany—in terms of the availability of the oncology drugs under consideration that are approved in Europe, with a rate of 89 percent. Oncologists are calling for faster processes following the reimbursement decision, as additional regional and hospital-specific procedures can further delay access.
