The night on Lake Garda was the scene of a dramatic accident caused by an extremely reckless and dangerous action by a group of young people. In Gardone Riviera, a municipality on the western shore popular with tourists, a so-called "challenge" ended in hospital with serious injuries for a 27-year-old Irishman. The incident tragically underlines the risks of such nonsensical tests of courage.
Reckless play with serious consequences
At around 2:30 in the morning, a risky scene took place on Gardesana Street. A group of young people began to provoke approaching cars by pretending to throw themselves onto the road. However, the macabre game turned bitterly serious when the 27-year-old man from Ireland was actually hit by a vehicle. The emergency services were quickly on the scene and administered first aid. Due to the severity of his injuries, the young man was immediately flown by rescue helicopter to the Spedali Civili specialist clinic in Brescia. According to initial information, his condition is serious, but fortunately his life is not in danger.
