The latest issue of the renowned Time Magazine features Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Under the headline "Where Giorgia Meloni leads Europe", the US weekly magazine pays tribute to her development and growing influence.
According to the magazine, Meloni has proved her critics wrong by presenting herself as a pragmatic conservative rather than a right-wing revolutionary since taking office. The magazine emphasizes that she has aligned herself closely with the EU, NATO and Ukraine and has skillfully positioned herself in international relations. She has won over politicians across the ideological spectrum.
"Almost three years after taking office, 48-year-old Meloni has become one of Europe's most interesting personalities," writes the magazine. Although she rejects "homogenizing" globalism, she is an advocate of European integration. As Italy's first female head of government, she has experienced "ridiculous stereotypes", but rejects state anti-discrimination measures such as "quotas".
