The Queen of Pop remains true to her tradition: world star Madonna also celebrated her 67th birthday in her adopted home of Italy. After stops in Puglia, Sicily and Campania in previous years, the singer opted for picturesque Tuscany this year. The highlight of her visit was her participation in the world-famous horse race Palio in Siena on Saturday afternoon.
Birthday party with an exclusive view of the Palio
On Saturday, her birthday, Madonna was first spotted shopping in Florence in the morning. In the afternoon, she traveled on to Siena to attend the historic Palio dell'Assunta. From an exclusive seat in a private apartment in the medieval Palazzo Pannocchieschi d'Elci, she watched the exciting race on the Piazza del Campo, which was won by the Contrada del Valdimontone. For the actual birthday party in the evening, absolute secrecy was maintained around a selected five-star hotel in the heart of Siena.
A special declaration of love for Italy
The choice of Tuscany is further proof of Madonna's deep connection to Italy. In previous years, she has already celebrated in Puglia (2017, 2021) and Sicily (2022). Last year, she visited the Campania region for her 66th birthday, stopping off in Pompeii, Positano and Capri. There, she showed her generosity with a donation of 250,000 euros for a local youth theater project. Each of her trips becomes a media spectacle and underlines her role as an unofficial ambassador for the beauty and culture of the country.
