DESENZANO DEL GARDA - A mysterious and brutal murder is keeping the carabinieri of Brescia busy. Late on Thursday evening, a 44-year-old woman, Dolores Dori, was pushed out of a car outside the emergency room of the hospital in Desenzano del Garda and left seriously injured. Despite immediate medical assistance, she succumbed to her injuries. The woman had three gunshot wounds to her abdomen. Investigators have opened a murder investigation and are extending their search to areas outside the province.
Victim known to police - brother a key witness
The investigation is currently focusing on analyzing surveillance cameras in the city and around the hospital in order to obtain information about the vehicle and the perpetrators. The victim, a resident of Vicenza, was no stranger to the authorities. Dolores Dori had previous convictions for fraud, particularly against elderly people. In a well-known case from 2012, she had pretended to be the daughter of a deceased friend in order to repeatedly extract money from a senior citizen. She later stole from the same man and harassed him with immoral offers.
The case takes a particularly explosive turn with information from the family of the victim. According to reports, Dolores Dori's brother is a collaborator with the justice system, a so-called key witness who was only recently accepted into a witness protection program. This circumstance leads the investigators to consider a possible revenge crime from the organized crime milieu as a motive and gives the case a new, worrying dimension.
