Marone - During an evening patrol, the Carabinieri in Marone pulled a suspected drug dealer out of circulation. The officers stopped a BMW. At the wheel was a 37-year-old man from the neighboring municipality of Sulzano, who was already known to the police for similar offenses.
Because the driver was acting extremely nervous, the police searched the car. They found what they were looking for in the dashboard: There were two packets containing a total of four blocks of hashish. The drugs weighed a total of 200 grams and bore the inscription „FILTER 73/150“ - apparently a trademark for this particular delivery. The carabinieri also discovered 720 euros in cash in the car. The money presumably came from street sales.

After the discovery in the vehicle, the investigators searched the man's nearby apartment. There they came across professional equipment. The 37-year-old had set up a small laboratory to divide the drugs into rations ready for sale. The officers seized further small quantities of hashish and marijuana.
They also confiscated vacuum equipment, suitable packaging material, two electronic precision scales and a kind of cash book. These handwritten notes documented the dealer's sales down to the last detail.
The Brescia public prosecutor's office took immediate action following the findings. The accused is now under house arrest in his apartment in Sulzano.
