Jannik Sinner continues his impressive run at Wimbledon and leaves nothing to be desired in the third round. The world number one from Italy defeated the Spaniard Pedro Martínez in three sets 6:1, 6:3, 6:1. The match lasted around two hours in total. It is remarkable that Sinner did not lose a single serve during the entire match.
The 23-year-old from South Tyrol once again showed his offensive qualities, hitting a total of 46 winning shots and making 31 unforced errors. Nevertheless, his dominance on the court was never seriously threatened - the difference between the two players was too great.
This victory takes Sinner into the last 16 of the Wimbledon Championships. The winner of the match between Grigor Dimitrov from Bulgaria and Austria's Sebastian Ofner awaits him there. This is the fourth year in a row that Sinner has reached the round of 16 at the prestigious Grand Slam tournament in London - further proof of his remarkable consistency at the highest level.
With this success, Sinner once again underpins his ambition to become the first Italian player to win the men's singles title at Wimbledon and thus make history. His form so far leaves no doubt that he is one of the big favorites to win the trophy - but the road to triumph at Wimbledon is still long and full of challenges.
