Wiesen – Show jumping in the Wipptal is entering its second phase: After a rest day on Monday, the international tournament Jumping in the Alps will continue its competition schedule in Wiesen on Tuesday. A Category B3* tournament is scheduled through Wednesday—with free admission for anyone interested.
About 300 riders are on duty every day
According to the organizers, similar to last weekend, around 300 riders will compete in various categories each day of the competition. About 170 horses remained in Wiesen after the first weekend of competition, and the rest of the field will arrive throughout Tuesday, according to tournament director Jakob Hochrainer. Some of these horses and riders will also compete in the third and final tournament from Friday through Sunday, which will be held in the highest category, A5*, and will be the absolute highlight of the tournament.
Young players earn important license points
The competitions on Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly focused on progetto sport, an initiative of the Italian Equestrian Federation. These events are particularly important for young riders, as they can earn points here toward obtaining the next higher license. Competition is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on both days, with the final results expected to be announced around 8 p.m. According to the announcement, the host club, Reitclub Wiesen, will also provide refreshments for visitors.
