Milan – At Inter Milan, squad planning for the upcoming season is picking up steam. Following a strong season, the club aims to make targeted signings and bring several new players on board in time for training camp. Four names are currently at the center of these efforts, with the goal of adding depth to the team in various positions.
Talks regarding center back Oumar Solet and backup goalkeeper Ivan Provedel appear to be the most advanced. For Solet, who is expected to join from Udinese, there is talk of a transfer fee of around 20 million euros, which could rise slightly with bonus payments. As for the goalkeeper, the two sides’ expectations still differ: While his current club is asking for around five million, Inter wants to pay significantly less—though a compromise is considered likely.
Inter Milan and the Unresolved Issues in the Transfer Market
The pursuit of young winger Marco Palestra is proving more difficult: His club in Bergamo is asking for more than 50 million euros, a sum the Milan club is unlikely to be willing to pay. In midfield, however, the coach has made his preference clear and favors the Englishman Curtis Jones, whom he explicitly prefers over another candidate.
Another open question is the status of an experienced veteran who has not yet decided whether to continue or end his career. Club officials are thus faced with the task of putting several pieces of the puzzle together at once before preseason training begins. If they manage to sign the targeted players in time, the Nerazzurri could head into the season with fresh talent and greater depth—otherwise, they face a race against the clock until the end of the transfer window.
