Naturno - An important date is fast approaching for mountain running fans: in exactly four weeks, the Alpenplus Ötzi Trailrun Naturno will take place. On April 11th, the municipality in the Vinschgau Valley will once again be transformed into a meeting point for the international trail running scene. While the trails on Naturno's Sonnenberg are already in excellent condition thanks to the mild weather, the organization is now entering the home straight. The response is particularly high this year, which is why last-minute decision-makers need to hurry to register.
Remaining places for the supreme disciplines in high demand
The demand for starting numbers for the Ötzi Trailrun Naturno is higher than ever before. Those looking for a sporting challenge have the choice between two demanding routes. The Sunny Mountain Trail demands everything from the athletes over 30 kilometers and 2,100 meters of altitude. Those who prefer a shorter but still technically demanding route can take part in the Naturno Skyrace, which covers 15 kilometers and 1,150 meters of altitude. There are currently only a few places left for both distances before registration closes for good. The event thus cements its reputation as one of the most important spring trails in the entire Alpine region.
Naturno also has plenty to offer youngsters. This year, youngsters born between 2008 and 2013 can compete in the new speed trail for the first time. There are also still around 50 places available for the popular Kids Run. The organizing team around Uli Stampfer, Daniel Jung and Lea Schweitzer hope to be able to hang up the „sold out“ sign in this area too soon, as the enthusiasm of the young runners in the finish area is always one of the emotional highlights of the event.
Expert talk and supporting program at Sonnenberg
In addition to the sporting events on Saturday, the sixth edition offers an informative preliminary program. On Friday evening, April 10, a top-class panel discussion will take place in the town hall of Naturno. Starting at 7 pm, experts such as professional athlete Daniel Jung and psychologist Heike Torggler will discuss various aspects and challenges of competitive sport. This format is intended to give participants and interested parties a deeper insight into the world of professional sport.
With the final markings that will be added to the route in the coming weeks and the final coordination of the refreshment stations, everything is ready for a sporting celebration on the Sonnenberg. The combination of alpine challenges and the first strong spring sunshine promises participants an incomparable experience in South Tyrol once again this year.
