Seiser Alm – Several records were broken on Sunday at the 13th Seiser Alm Half Marathon. Greta Haselrieder of Bruneck won the half marathon with a new course record of 1:28.11 hours, beating the previous record set by Benedetta Coliva in 2023 by 3 minutes and 41 seconds. In the men’s race, Sven Koch, who lives in Innsbruck and is originally from the Allgäu region, won the race in 1:18.23 hours. For the first time, the event also had 1,000 registered athletes.
Haselrieder's Third Victory in Record Time
For the 29-year-old doctor, this was her third victory at the Seiser Alm Half Marathon, following wins in 2022 and 2024. Last year, she had to drop out of the race after about seven kilometers. This time, she dominated the 21.1-kilometer course—with 601 meters of elevation gain—from the very start. Second place went to Alessia Scaini from Arco, who finished 5:38 minutes behind, while Manuela Serra from Bologna took third place with a time of 1:39:07. Two athletes from the Vinschgau Valley followed in fourth and fifth place: Annemarie Schöpf in 1:43.42 hours and Selina Christandl in 1:45.32 hours.
Koch Wins Head-to-Head Match Against Felicetti
In the men’s race, Sven Koch engaged in a thrilling head-to-head battle with last year’s winner, Daniele Felicetti from Trentino. According to a statement from the organizers, Koch was only able to pull away decisively during the descent and ultimately won by a margin of 25 seconds. It was his first time competing in the Seiser Alm Half Marathon. Luca Clara from Klausen secured third place in 1:21.04 hours as the top South Tyrolean finisher. Koch also won the combined classification with the Moonlight Classic Alpe di Siusi, which he had attended in January.
First-Ever Children's Race and Record Number of Participants
In addition to the main race and the Just-for-Fun Run A children's race was also held for the first time, which, according to the organizers, was organized by the LG Schlern and Seiser Alm Marketing was a resounding success. The children’s race was limited to 100 participants. The main race also set a new record with 1,000 registered participants. The organizers were very pleased with how smoothly the event went, thanks to sunny weather and pleasant temperatures. The next Seiser Alm Half Marathon is scheduled for July 4, 2027.
