Welschnofen - This winter, the Carezza Dolomites ski resort is offering extraordinary insights behind the scenes of Alpine cable car technology. Every Tuesday, under the expert guidance of well-known snow pioneer Georg Eisath, winter sports enthusiasts have the opportunity to find out how modern snowmaking and slope preparation work in harmony with ecological goals.
From pioneering spirit to modern slope grooming
Georg Eisath is considered one of the pioneers of technical snowmaking in South Tyrol. Four decades ago, he constructed the first snow cannons in the region, laying the foundations for TechnoAlpin, which is now a world-leading company. In 2008, he took over the ski resort on the Carezza Pass and continued to develop the area between the Catinaccio and Latemar mountains. Today, the company is managed by his son Florian, with an increased focus on sustainable investment and resource conservation.
A central aspect of the guided tours on offer is a conscious approach to the environment. The ski resort relies on forward-looking technologies: The entire vehicle fleet, including all snow groomers and company cars, runs on the sustainable biodiesel fuel HVO. In addition, intensive test runs are currently taking place with a fully electric snow groomer. In order to reinforce awareness of ecological issues throughout the company, employees also complete special training courses as part of the Dolomiti Superski Online Academy.

The offer is primarily aimed at young people and adults with an interest in technology who would like to find out more about the infrastructure on the mountain.
