Jealousy Spree Escalates: Man Arrested with a Knife
Castel Bolognese – A relationship dispute that escalated ended on Tuesday with an arrest. A man known to the police now faces charges of stalking, trespassing, and resisting law enforcement officers.
The man apparently couldn't come to terms with the breakup from his ex-girlfriend that had occurred some time ago. Under the influence of alcohol, he went to her apartment and used an open window to gain entry. Once inside, he encountered his ex-girlfriend’s new partner. The intruder immediately pulled out a knife and made death threats against the man.
The victim, who was under threat, reacted quickly and called 112. A Carabinieri patrol arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. Despite repeated requests from the officers to calm down, the attacker remained aggressive. He tried to lunge at both the officers and his ex’s new boyfriend.
To bring the situation under control and protect everyone present, the Carabinieri used pepper spray. This allowed them to finally subdue the man and arrest him. On the orders of the district attorney’s office, he was placed under house arrest. He is now awaiting an expedited trial.
