Bologna - A loud argument in an apartment in the Foscherara district called the carabinieri to the scene on Tuesday. Residents had called the emergency services because of loud shouting. However, the call did not end with the resolution of a relationship drama, but with a drug find. 32-year-old Italian man answered the door when the officers arrived at the apartment. He explained that he had only had a verbal argument with his girlfriend, but that she had already left the apartment. However, the man acted conspicuously nervous and aroused the suspicion of the emergency services. He tried to play down the situation while inconspicuously throwing a small package into the garbage can.
The carabinieri could not be dissuaded and decided to carry out a check. When they searched the man and his home, they finally discovered the reason for his nervousness. The officers seized a total of 123 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of hashish, a precision scale and 3,795 euros in cash. Twelve grams of the cocaine were in the package that the man had left in the trash shortly before.
The 32-year-old, who is already known to the police for similar offenses, was arrested. He was placed under house arrest by order of the public prosecutor's office in Bologna. He is now awaiting trial.
