Brescia/Val Trompia – Eight young men in the province of Brescia had a rude awakening on Monday morning, December 15, when the Carabinieri stood at their doors. Officers from the Gardone Val Trompia company, supported by the Brescia provincial command and a dog unit from Casatenovo, carried out eight precautionary measures against members of a youth gang. The allegations are serious: the group's list of crimes ranges from aggravated robbery and extortion to bodily harm.
Cowardly attacks on defenseless people
Investigations by the Brescia Public Prosecutor's Office for Minors paint a picture of a group operating under the name „069.” The eight main defendants, some of Italian and some of foreign origin, are now between 17 and 19 years old and are alleged to have committed their crimes while they themselves were still minors.
The ruthlessness with which the perpetrators acted is particularly shocking. According to investigators, the violence of this loose association was directed specifically at even younger victims or people with disabilities. Between September 2022 and March 2025, they terrorized the communities of Villa Carcina, Sarezzo, and Concesio with assaults, stalking, theft, and property damage. Weapons are also said to have been used in the crimes. The judge ordered three of the defendants to be placed in a community facility, while five others must serve house arrest.
Large-scale raid and further suspects
Monday's operation marks the conclusion of a lengthy investigation by the Carabinieri station in Villa Carcina. By analyzing surveillance camera footage, confiscated smartphones, and witness statements, officers were able to uncover the gang's structure. At the same time as the arrests, officers conducted 17 house searches of other suspects aged between 15 and 20. They now also face prosecution.
The police had already cracked down on the adult members of the „069“ gang in September 2024. They were sentenced to prison terms of between two and eight years in May last year. The current measures are intended to finally break up the criminal network.
