Giugliano in Campania - It was around 2 p.m. when a Carabinieri patrol near Giugliano attempted to stop a conspicuous VW Golf GTI with Polish license plates. But instead of complying with the request to stop, the 20-year-old driver stepped on the gas pedal, triggering a life-threatening police operation.
At 200 km/h on the expressway
The escape initially led the officers onto the „Asse Mediano“ expressway, where the powerful compact car reached top speeds of 200 km/h. The two occupants sped through the towns of Arzano and Casoria with no regard for casualties. In a desperate attempt to shake off the officers, the fugitives even tried to ram another Carabinieri patrol car that was trying to block their way. At first, the men managed to disappear into the dense network between Casavatore and Secondigliano.
Access to the drug stash in the garage
However, the investigators did not let up and were finally able to track down the two suspects, aged 19 and 20. During the search of the individuals, the officers came across crucial evidence: a garage key. In the box belonging to it, the officers not only found the getaway car, but also a veritable warehouse of narcotics.
In total, the officers seized almost 900 grams of hashish, 150 grams of marijuana and around 230 grams of cocaine. Particularly explosive: the cocaine was already divided into 295 individual doses ready for sale. In addition to the drugs, 655 euros in cash, precision scales and cell phones were confiscated.
This incident marks the third „dangerous escape“ within a few days in the Naples area. Similar scenes have previously occurred in Pozzuoli and the Barra district of Naples, indicating an increasing ruthlessness in local crime.
