Angolo Terme - A call to the 112 emergency call center led the Carabinieri to an operation at the abandoned „Hotel Terme“. A witness had reported suspicious people there.
A patrol from the Darfo Boario Terme police station immediately made their way to the former hotel. Inside the old building, the officers came across a 37-year-old man. He was in the process of ripping electrical cables out of the walls.
The perpetrator had already collected around 71 kilograms of copper cable for removal. During the subsequent search of the man, the emergency services also found various burglary tools. The 37-year-old Italian is no stranger to crime: He already has a criminal record for similar property offenses. The carabinieri arrested him for grand theft.
