Ravenna - On the morning of April 15, 2025, the carabinieri of the provincial command executed an arrest warrant issued by the local public prosecutor's office. The measure is directed against a 36-year-old man from Mali who is urgently suspected of aggravated murder with ulterior motives.
Body found in the harbor district
The Carabinieri's investigation began at dawn the previous day after a body was discovered in the Darsena area (harbor district). Immediate and detailed forensics at the crime scene enabled the investigators to reconstruct the course of the crime. The crime itself is said to have taken place near an abandoned building in this neighborhood. The evidence collected quickly led the authorities to the 36-year-old man who has now been arrested.
Suspect guarded in hospital
According to initial reconstructions, there was apparently an argument before the homicide. The alleged perpetrator suffered injuries that were probably caused by a blow with a blunt object. Due to these injuries, he had to be admitted to hospital in Ravenna. It was there that the officers issued the arrest warrant. The suspect is currently being kept under round-the-clock police surveillance in hospital. As soon as his state of health allows, he will be transferred to a detention center.
