The owner of several local businesses unintentionally disposed of 7,000 euros in a municipal container for separate waste collection. According to him, the money consisted of personal savings and the income from his businesses.
Desperate search for the cash
When the man realized his momentous mistake, he immediately contacted the local carabinieri and reported the loss. The officers responded immediately and contacted the municipal waste disposal service. Thanks to this rapid coordination, the emergency services were able to identify and stop the exact refuse truck that had previously collected the waste in the area indicated by the merchant.
Two days of meticulous work
What followed was an extensive search through the collected garbage. After two days of painstaking searching, there was finally a happy ending: the money was found completely intact among the garbage. The rescued cash was then returned in full to its relieved and rightful owner.
