With 12,030 points, Jannik Sinner maintains his leading position in the ATP world rankings. The gap to his rivals Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev remains clear. There were only minimal shifts among the top 10: Ben Shelton improved to eighth place, while Holger Rune dropped one place.
Italian tennis still on the upswing
In addition to Sinner, six other Italian professionals are currently ranked among the top 50 players in the world. Flavio Cobolli is ranked 18th, Lorenzo Sonego has moved up three places to 37th, while Matteo Berrettini has dropped six places and is now ranked 42nd.
Luciano Darderi reached a special milestone, catapulting nine places into the top 50 for the first time and is now ranked 46th.
Two other Italian players, Mattia Bellucci and Luca Nardi, complete the top 100 from an Italian perspective.
Jannik Sinner takes a break after Wimbledon - season planning with foresight
After winning the title at Wimbledon, Sinner has decided not to take part in the Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto. This deliberate break is for physical recovery and strategic preparation for the upcoming hard court season. His next tournament appearance is planned for the Masters in Cincinnati at the beginning of August. Sinner wants to return to top form there and further extend his lead in the world rankings.
Italy's tennis elite is in impressive form at the moment - with Sinner at the top and an increasingly broad-based elite by international standards.
