Bisceglie - In the Apulian municipality of Bisceglie, a husband and his wife have died after falling from a fifth-floor balcony. The lifeless bodies of Patrizia Lamanuzzi (54) and Luigi Gentile (61) were found next to each other on the garage driveway of their apartment building in Via Vittorio Veneto. Both died instantly.
Separation and fatal dispute
According to initial findings, the couple were in the process of separating. A neighbor described a dramatic scene to the carabinieri: during an argument, she heard the 54-year-old woman screaming before she fell. The couple are survived by two children, one of whom lives in Switzerland and the other in nearby Trani.
Investigations are ongoing
The carabinieri of the Trani provincial command have started the investigation. The most likely hypothesis put forward by the officers is a murder followed by suicide. The 61-year-old is said to have deliberately pushed his wife into the abyss and then taken his own life. However, the possibility that the man was unintentionally dragged into the abyss during the act of murder cannot be completely ruled out for the time being. The exact circumstances remain the subject of ongoing investigations.
